This is a good project to make so that you have a tray to put goodies in at Christmas time. Candy, Chips or what ever you want to put in it.

Plan to make a few changes, mostly in joinery, but the basics will always stay the same. Nice solid bench.

I had seen the style, but did not want to 'trial & error' the plan. Soooo, spent a few dollars to save me the time. Had my first one built in about an hour. Perfect.
Have not used the plans yet but they look like this going to be a fun project. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Winnie is a great source of help and knowledge. The plans are great and easy to follow. Once you get past the "I have never done this before," it all works out pretty easily. There is still a lot you have to pay attention to, but it depends on what tools you have on hand. I have a Skil Jigsaw, Palm Sander, Ryobi Circular Saw, and Drill Driver. All these are corded to, and I don't have a work table. So you can do it. Winnie was very helpful when I emailed her a couple of questions, and was a great help. All that said, you can't go wrong watching Standish Woodstory videos on YouTube or buying project plans from Standishwoodstory.com. Enjoy your new adventure in woodworking, like I have been. There is so much more to learn and so many ways to grow.

I'm at that age now where my evening often includes a good book and a cup of tea. Now I don't have to put one down to enjoy the other. and it really works.
Now, little scraps of wood are book page holders waiting to be made!
